Job Overview:

As a Senior Principal Scientist in Translational Medicine focusing on Neurology, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our drug development initiatives across various neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute specific biomarker and translational strategies, contributing to the formulation of clinical protocols, statistical analysis plans, and lab manuals, while collaborating with external partners for service execution.
  2. Identify suitable assays and vendors for clinical biomarkers, overseeing the outsourcing of biomarker assay development and validation processes.
  3. Coordinate the delivery and analysis of clinical biomarker data, ensuring alignment with internal teams and external partners.
  4. Prepare and present translational and biomarker findings to both internal stakeholders and external audiences.
  5. Manage timelines for biomarker data publication in collaboration with the Medical Communications and Publication teams.
  6. Stay informed on the latest scientific and technical literature to integrate external insights into our research efforts.
  7. Collaborate with laboratory scientists and academic thought leaders to address translational questions.
  8. Engage in post-hoc biomarker analyses and contribute to publication efforts.
  9. Support regulatory submissions and interactions as necessary.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • In-depth understanding of late-stage drug development processes.
  • Experience in clinical trial initiation, management, and completion.
  • Proficient in project management and timeline coordination with external partners.
  • Demonstrated scientific leadership and expertise.
  • Accountability for project timelines and deliverables.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with over 10 years of relevant experience, or
  • Master's Degree with over 8 years of relevant experience, or
  • Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in Life Sciences with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years in a leadership role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in neuroscience or a related discipline with over 8 years of experience in academia or biotechnology.
  • At least 3 years of experience in clinical biomarker development.

Compensation:
The starting salary for this position ranges from $159,000 to $200,000, along with potential incentive cash and stock options based on eligibility.
