Job Summary:The Family Services Case Worker is responsible for providing front-line and follow-up assistance to individuals presenting a variety of needs. This includes conducting client interviews, needs assessments, and case management. The successful candidate will work within the approved budget to provide emergency food and direct financial assistance in the form of emergency rent, utilities, and prescriptions.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform casework services, including client interviews, needs assessments, and case management.
- Work within the approved budget to provide emergency food and direct financial assistance.
- Assist with the receiving and processing of food as directed by the Director of Social Services.
- Assist the Director with the preparation and submission of reports and statistics.
- Assist the Director with the maintenance of an active information and referral system.
- Assist the Director with the maintenance of all filing systems, both hard copies and computer files, as they pertain to Family Services.
- Be familiar with and adhere to all funding source guidelines.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls as needed.
- Perform light janitorial duties as needed.
- Be familiar with and maintain Protecting the Mission compliance.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
- Assist with seasonal efforts, including but not limited to: Summer Camp Registrations, Christmas Intake/Distribution, toy sorting, and data entry.
- Adhere to employee dress codes while working.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Social Services/Corps Officers.
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, run, jump, and twist on an intermittent and sometimes continuous basis.
- Maintain the ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, reach overhead, and carry office supplies.
- Maintain the ability to operate a computer, telephone, and similar technologies.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must be a High School graduate or equivalent. An AA degree or comparable years of work experience preferred.
- Must submit to and pass a background check.
- Must complete Protecting the Mission - child safety training.
- Must possess a valid Driver's License and be a minimum of 21 years old.

- Low bi-weekly premiums for employee-only coverage, Kaiser HMO for those residing in a Kaiser service area, Anthem EPO/PPO is available for those residing outside a Kaiser service area.
- Voluntary +1 and +family coverage at additional cost.
- Delta Dental DHMO and DPPO dental insurance are offered.
- Employer-paid life insurance policy covers employees.
- Voluntary supplemental life, short-term and long-term disability plans are available.
- Employer-funded Money Purchase Pension Plan (Defined Contribution Plan) 50% vested at five years eligible service time.
- Plus, an employee-funded voluntary 403(b) option.
- 40 hours of Paid Leave for qualifying events.
- 12 days of Sick Leave annually accruing from day one, eligible for use after three months' service time.
- Two weeks annually, accruing from day one, for non-exempt positions.
- Four weeks annually, accruing from day one, for exempt positions.
- Accrued vacation is eligible for use after six months' service time.
- 13 designated holidays + 1 floating holiday per year.
