Position Overview

As an M1 Armor Vehicle Operator, you will ensure your unit is always prepared for action. Your role involves operating advanced tanks such as the M1A2 Abrams, one of the most sophisticated military machines globally, along with other amphibious assault vehicles to engage and neutralize enemy threats.

Compensation and Training
Instead of incurring costs to acquire these skills, you will earn a salary while training. In the Army National Guard, you will gain these essential job skills while receiving a regular paycheck and qualifying for educational assistance.

Training for the M1 Armor Vehicle Operator role consists of 15 weeks of One Station Unit Training, which includes Basic Training to develop fundamental soldiering skills and Advanced Individual Training for in-depth knowledge of your specialty. This training combines classroom instruction with field exercises simulating combat scenarios.
