Position Overview

As an M1 Tank Operator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining your unit's operational readiness. Your responsibilities will include operating advanced military tanks, such as the M1A2 Abrams, along with various amphibious assault vehicles to effectively engage and neutralize enemy threats.

Compensation and Training
Instead of incurring costs for training, you will earn a salary while acquiring these essential skills. In the Army National Guard, you will receive valuable training while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for educational assistance.

Training for the M1 Tank Operator position includes 15 weeks of One Station Unit Training, which combines Basic Training to develop fundamental soldiering skills with Advanced Individual Training to delve deeply into your specialty. This training encompasses both classroom instruction and practical field exercises under simulated combat conditions.
