Key Responsibilities:

  • As a Tax Manager within the Financial Services sector, you will deliver federal tax consulting and compliance services to clients in the banking and financial services sectors.
  • You will engage directly with clients, lead the tax engagement team, and have access to a specialized group of experts when necessary, supported by firm leadership to ensure your success in this role and your career.
  • Cultivating and maintaining dedicated client relationships across various federal and state tax consulting/compliance engagements. The Tax Manager is responsible for ensuring clients receive proactive communication and timely service.
  • Advising clients on a range of tax matters, including accounting for income taxes, tax provisions, compliance, and assisting with audits/notices from federal and state tax authorities.
  • Conducting thorough reviews of tax work papers and provision calculations completed by other associates.
  • Providing training, guidance, and oversight to staff and senior accountants.
  • Managing consulting projects that require tax analysis for various entities and their affiliates.
  • Maintaining technical expertise in diverse tax areas relevant to financial institutions to deliver pertinent services and solutions to our clients' businesses.
  • Participating in and providing leadership for firm initiatives and projects.
  • Our range of business tax services is applicable for both public and private companies, encompassing tax planning, compliance, controversy and risk management, government incentives, and tax management consulting.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to travel up to 10%, on average, based on the work performed and the clients and industries served.
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • One of the following credentials is required:
  • Licensed CPA or licensed attorney.
  • A minimum of 5 years of corporate tax experience.
  • Proven managerial experience with budgets, personnel, and projects.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with a proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities.
