Key Responsibilities:

  • As a Tax Manager within the Financial Services sector, you will deliver federal tax consulting and compliance services to clients in the banking and financial services sectors.
  • You will collaborate directly with clients, oversee the tax engagement team, have access to a distinguished group of specialists when necessary, and be connected to a proven support system from firm leadership to ensure your success in your role and career.
  • Cultivating and sustaining dedicated client relationships on various federal and state tax consulting/compliance engagements. The Tax Manager is accountable for ensuring clients receive proactive communication and timely service.
  • Advising clients on a variety of tax matters including accounting for income taxes, tax provisions, tax compliance, and assisting with audits/notices from federal and state taxing authorities.
  • Conducting thorough reviews of tax work papers and provision calculations completed by other associates.
  • Providing training, guidance, and supervision to staff and senior accountants.
  • Overseeing consulting projects that require tax analysis for various entities and their affiliates.
  • Maintaining technical expertise in diverse tax areas related to financial institutions to deliver services and solutions pertinent to our clients' businesses.
  • Participating in and providing leadership for firm initiatives and projects.
  • Our range of business tax services is relevant for both public and private companies and encompasses tax planning, compliance, controversy and risk management, government incentives, and tax management consulting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to travel up to 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • One of the following accreditations obtained:
  • Licensed CPA or licensed attorney.
  • Minimum of 5 years of corporate tax experience.
  • Proven managerial experience with budgets, personnel, and projects.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with a proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities.
