Job Title: Assistant Attorney General - Juvenile Litigation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Assistant Attorney General to join our team in the Yakima Office. As a key member of our litigation team, you will be responsible for representing the State of Washington in juvenile litigation cases, advocating for the rights and best interests of vulnerable children and families.

About the Role:
  • Represent the State of Washington in juvenile litigation cases, including dependency, guardianship, and termination of parental rights proceedings.
  • Advise and assist social workers and other agency employees in navigating complex child welfare cases.
  • Develop and implement effective litigation strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and court decisions to provide expert guidance and support.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) or completion of the Washington State Bar Association's (WSBA) Rule 6 Law Clerk Program.
  • Active membership in the Washington State Bar Association.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
