The laboratory focuses on fundamental and translational research in cancer biology. Immediate openings are available for researchers to investigate the interplay between obesity, oncogenic translatome, and the tumor microenvironment.

Utilizing advanced genetically engineered mouse models, we aim to elucidate B-cell development and lymphomagenesis, alongside functional genomics, proteomics, genome editing, and innovative screening methodologies to explore cancer biology, with the ultimate objective of identifying novel drug targets and effective therapeutic strategies.

Ideal candidates should possess a PhD in biomedical sciences, particularly with a focus on biochemistry, molecular biology, or cancer biology.

Candidates with substantial in vivo experience using mouse models are highly encouraged to apply.

The successful applicant must demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to independently plan and execute research studies, while also collaborating effectively and mentoring junior lab members.

Additionally, familiarity with techniques such as western blotting, immunofluorescence, and flow cytometry analysis is preferred. The position offers the opportunity to engage in cutting-edge collaborative research projects across multiple laboratories within the institution.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the conceptualization and design of research studies, proposing alternative approaches as necessary.
  • Prepare research reports and technical manuscripts for publication.
  • Assess the feasibility of applying various scientific principles and theories.

  • Apply for fellowships and assist in drafting scientific proposals and grants.
  • Engage in routine laboratory maintenance and management.
  • Develop advanced animal and/or in vitro models and systems, providing innovative ideas and solutions.

  • Conduct basic cell culture.
  • Utilize standard molecular biology techniques for cloning.
  • Optimize bacterial expression and protein purification processes.
-(20%)

  • Assist the principal investigator and lab members with specific laboratory tasks.
  • Prepare documentation for regulatory committees as needed.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks such as liquid nitrogen tank refills, cataloging IHC slides/blocks, and ordering lab reagents.
  • Support the documentation process for various committees to ensure smooth laboratory operations.
  • Collaborate with other lab members as required.
  • Complete other miscellaneous laboratory duties.
Minimum Hiring Standards:

  • PhD in biomedical sciences with a strong background in molecular biology, cancer biology, genetics, genomics, immunology, or related fields.
  • Proficiency with cancer mouse models is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or a commitment to do so as a staff member.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in biomedical sciences with a strong background in molecular biology, cancer biology, genetics, genomics, immunology, or related fields.
  • Proficiency with cancer mouse models is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential.
