Shaker for ChristianaCare Direct is seeking a dedicated Research Nurse Coordinator with two years of experience in Oncology Clinical settings to join our Cancer Research Department.

In this pivotal role, the Research Nurse Coordinator will:

  • Screen, enroll, plan, implement, and assess protocol-related care for participants involved in research projects.
  • Adhere to study-specific protocol guidelines while effectively communicating with investigators, hospital personnel, department managers, sponsoring organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain regular contact with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, laboratories, and pharmacy staff, as well as sponsors and regulatory agencies.
  • Interpret and implement complex hematology/oncology protocols for multiple patients across various studies.
  • Oversee all aspects of protocol treatment and monitoring, ensuring thorough documentation and completion of all required tasks.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive patient research charts, ensuring all source documents support reported data.
  • Act as a mentor and preceptor for new or less experienced research nurse coordinators and clinical research associates.
  • Participate actively in multidisciplinary clinics and tumor conferences, pre-screening patients for clinical trial eligibility and educating other professionals about specific trials.
  • Collect, document, and report medical data as mandated by study protocols from diverse resources, utilizing multiple data reporting systems.
  • Analyze complex laboratory, pathology, and molecular testing results to determine study eligibility and outcomes.
  • Interpret radiology and other test results, reporting findings using established criteria.
  • Develop new data collection forms as necessary to enhance research processes.
  • Identify and address local and systemic issues that hinder patient care, contributing to the development and implementation of solutions.

Education & Requirements:

  • Active DE RN License or Compact Nursing License.
