Job Summary

The College of Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team in the Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative magnetic materials and spintronic devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in modeling, simulating, fabricating, and characterizing voltage-controlled nanomagnetic devices.
  • Collaborate with a team of scientists and engineers to advance the field of magnetic materials and spintronics.
  • Develop and expand technical skills in magnetism and solid-state physics.
  • Contribute to the development of new research projects and initiatives.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in electrical/electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, physics, or relevant field.
  • Experience in modeling nanomagnetic/spintronic devices.
  • Experience in fabrication and characterization of electric-field controlled nanomagnetic devices.
  • Strong background in magnetism, skyrmions, and nanomagnetic devices.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in magnetic force microscopy (MFM) measurements.
  • Experience in magneto-optical characterization.
  • Experience in Lorentz Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM).
  • Experience in micromagnetic and atomistic simulations.
  • Experience in electron-beam lithography.
  • Experience in electron-beam materials deposition for thin films.
