Role Summary
One Degree Agriculture is in search of a motivated Agricultural Sales Specialist to enhance our team. This position is pivotal in driving sales and advocating for agronomic solutions tailored to the needs of farmers within the designated territory. The Agricultural Sales Specialist will collaborate closely with the Agronomy Manager to ensure that our offerings align with customer requirements while promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with leadership and the Agronomy Manager to formulate and implement a sales strategy aimed at maximizing crop yield and operational efficiency.
- Identify and engage potential clients, including local farmers and prospective distribution partners.
- Foster and sustain robust relationships with clients through a consultative sales approach, delivering tailored agronomic insights and solutions.
- Remain informed about industry developments and innovations in agronomy, integrating new knowledge and technologies into our operational framework.
- Represent One Degree Agriculture at industry events, conferences, and workshops.
- Establish a strong presence in the territory by conducting on-site sales visits, providing product demonstrations, and addressing any technical inquiries.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and maintain precise documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, or a related discipline; advanced degrees are preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in agronomy management or a similar field.
- Experience in seed and/or biological product sales is highly desirable.
- Comprehensive understanding of crop production, soil health, pest control, and plant nutrition.
- Proven track record of sales growth and territory expansion over a minimum of 5 years.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret and analyze agronomic data effectively.
- Experience with agricultural research and field trials.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in agronomy-related software and technology.
- Willingness to travel frequently and adapt to various field conditions.
