Job Title: EH&S Technician II

Join Standard Inspection Services as an EH&S Technician II and contribute to the implementation of EH&S procedures in a dynamic ship repair environment.

Job Summary:

The EH&S Technician II will report to the Quality Assurance/EHS Manager and support the business unit in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment. This role requires a strong understanding of OSHA Maritime Industry requirements and the ability to work collaboratively with the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the implementation of EH&S procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA Maritime Industry requirements.
  • Conduct regular health and safety inspections and provide daily reports.
  • Assist with spill clean-up and provide injury/incident reports.
  • Issue corrective actions as needed.
  • Participate in data collection for ergonomics, job safety analysis, industrial hygiene, and other EHS programs.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid California driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain DBIDS credentials.
  • Permit Authorizing Individual (PAI) Certified.
  • Shipyard Competent Person (SYCP) certified.
  • Trained on STANDARD's TRs.
  • OSHA 5410 Occupational Safety and Health Standards for Maritime Industry.
  • OSHA 3095 Electrical Standards.
  • OSHA 3115 Fall Protection.
  • OSHA 521 Guide to Industrial Hygiene.
  • HAZWOPER 8-hrs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years progressive experience in EH&S in a ship repair environment.
  • Understanding of Naval Ship Repair requirements and working environment.
Work Environment:

This role operates in an office and shipyard work environment, requiring the ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and climb ladders and staircases of varying sizes.

Physical Qualifications:

The physical demands of this role include standing and walking for extensive periods, carrying objects up to 50 lbs, and frequent stooping, bending, crawling, reaching, and walking.

Security Clearance:
  • Completion of a satisfactory background check.
  • Passing a drug test and physical examination.
  • Eligibility to work in the US.
  • Obtaining DBIDS level security clearance.
