Job Summary

In accordance with the mission and philosophy of Dignity Health, the Anesthesia Technician Level 2 (AT 2) assists licensed anesthesia providers in the acquisition, preparation, and application of equipment and supplies required for the administration of anesthesia.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and clean patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before, during, and after anesthesia.
  • Provide support for anesthesia cases by assisting in the preparation of patient equipment and anesthesia delivery systems.
  • Perform first-level trouble shooting and maintenance of anesthesia delivery systems.
  • Sterilize, disinfect, and order supplies for anesthesia equipment and maintain stock in all anesthesia machines and the AWS.
  • Assist with direct and indirect patient care activities under the direct supervision of the circulating RN.
  • Clean the OR suites, obtain and put away supplies and equipment, and transport patients, move and position patients, transport specimens, and transport blood products.
Qualifications
  • One year of Anesthesia Technician 1 experience or equivalent anesthesia experience required.
  • Must complete Anesthesia Tech II curriculum within one year of hire or transfer to position.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR) required.
