Job Summary:

Helo Health is seeking experienced mental health professionals to work as Crisis Center Therapists on a per diem basis. The successful candidate will provide urgent response and treatment services to individuals experiencing an acute mental health and/or substance use crisis.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a caseload of individuals seeking treatment with a variety of behavioral healthcare needs.
  • Perform essential counseling/therapist responsibilities including screening, intake and assessment, evaluation and intervention, treatment planning, discharge planning, referrals, crisis intervention, and psychoeducation.
  • Exhibit exemplary knowledge of the biopsychosocial process of substance use, addiction, behavioral health, self-help group processes, and principles of counseling.
  • Provide evidence-based counseling.
  • Be a change agent for the community by providing person-centered, strengths-based, harm reduction services.
  • Maintain case records in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Assist with the training of staff and student interns as assigned.
  • Relate effectively with individuals served, Helio Health staff, and the community while upholding appropriate standards of confidentiality.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid professional license (including but not limited to LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, RN, NP, etc.) or credential (including but not limited to CASAC, CPP, CPS, etc.). Limited Permit (LP) licenses are acceptable.
  • One year experience working as a licensed mental health and/or substance use counselor.
  • Two years' experience in the Human Services field working with individuals with mental health, substance use, or co-occurring disorders preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred, Bachelor's degree required.
  • Valid New York State Driver License, access to reliable transportation.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications.
