Key Responsibilities:

Asset Management

  • Oversee the capitalization process in alignment with corporate policies and accounting regulations.
  • Maintain comprehensive fixed asset schedules, demonstrating an understanding of industry complexities.
  • Work closely with the inventory team to perform regular physical counts and address any discrepancies.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP/IFRS and company protocols concerning depreciation methods and timelines.
  • Analyze and explain variances associated with fixed assets.
  • Possess knowledge of Lease Accounting (ASC842) and prepare ad hoc amortization schedules as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit documentation and respond to auditor inquiries regarding fixed assets.
  • Support the Corporate Controller with the Al Volume Tax budget and related audits.

Project Oversight

  • Collaborate with project leaders to monitor and manage capital initiatives.
  • Ensure prompt capitalization of finalized projects and accurate recording of associated costs.
  • Provide financial insights and support for decision-making related to capital expenditures.

General Accounting Duties

  • Guarantee precise and timely recording of all financial transactions.
  • Familiarize yourself with ASC606 and post journal entries accordingly.
  • Reconcile assigned accounts and resolve discrepancies to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Prepare monthly Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements.
  • Analyze Days Outstanding Sales (DOS) and Days Payable Sales (DPS).
  • Offer guidance and expertise to junior accounting personnel.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on accounting principles and practices, providing insights and recommendations to support business objectives.

Compliance and Internal Controls

  • Assist the Corporate Controller in developing and implementing robust internal controls.
  • Ensure that purchase order processes and disbursements comply with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred; CPA designation is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Staff Accountant role.
  • Experience in the telecommunications or FTTH sector is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP).
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively to meet stringent deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively with all organizational levels.
