Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at the University of Iowa. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing complex nuclear medicine imaging and laboratory procedures, developing and implementing new technologies, and providing instruction to medical staff and students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of complex nuclear medicine imaging and laboratory procedures
  • Develop and implement new technologies and procedures
  • Provide instruction to medical staff and students
  • Follow established radiation protection guidelines
  • Develop quality assurance testing parameters
  • Conduct formal and informal continuing education programs
  • Supervise staff and students in specialized imaging areas
  • Coordinate planning and scheduling of diagnostic procedures
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or equivalent
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • Certification as a Nuclear Medical Technologist by the Iowa Public Health Department
  • Reasonable experience in nuclear medicine procedures and related computer applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
