Job Summary

The Business Operations Technician will provide transactional support for the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Pathology's undergraduate and graduate programs and human resources. This position will be responsible for HR entries, programmatic administrative support, and other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide transactional support to current and prospective graduate students, including monitoring and paying tuition and fees, assisting with application coordination, and providing program and application information.
  • Enter graduate student transactions for stipend increases, appointments, and reappointments, and coordinate the certification form signature processes.
  • Coordinate classroom draft scheduling with the Registrar and faculty, work with faculty and the bookstore to place textbook orders, and collect and maintain syllabi for courses taught each semester.
  • Facilitate faculty grade submissions, reminding and assisting faculty as needed, and coordinate regalia ordering and returns for commencement ceremonies.
  • Work with the Communications Team to create and distribute seminar notices for departmental and graduate seminars, defense notifications, and other events.
  • Provide backup support to other business operations, including customer service for the front office and travel processing.
  • Cross-train with the academic support team on student forms and other technical processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an institution of higher education.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with customer service.
  • Written and verbal communication skills confirmed by review of application materials.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Prior experience in Higher Education.
  • Experience balancing varied job responsibilities.
