Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Cosmetology Instructor to join our team at Lawson State Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching credited academic and technical courses in Cosmetology, as well as performing other duties associated with institutional effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver instruction for credited academic and technical courses in Cosmetology
  • Supervise students and maintain discipline in class, lab, and shop
  • Develop laboratory projects that enable students to relate theory to practical application
  • Administer written and performance examinations to determine student progress
  • Implement a system of recording student progress
  • Communicate student progress to students and appropriate personnel
  • Respond to students' requests promptly
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent in the teaching discipline, as well as three years of successful full-time experience as a practitioner in the field. A current Alabama Cosmetology instructor license is also required.
