Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Workers' Compensation Claims Assistant to join our team at the Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Risk Pool. As a key member of our department, you will provide clerical and customer service support for our operations, ensuring seamless communication and efficient processing of claims.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process new claims, verifying claim information and entering data into our computerized database.
  • Submit written requests for medical and employment information, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely responses.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, answering phone calls, greeting visitors, and responding to inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Sort and distribute mail, coordinating filing and document management for assigned Specialists.
  • Maintain office equipment, coordinate maintenance, and manage office supply inventory, ensuring a well-organized and efficient work environment.
  • Perform related duties, including making copies, sending and receiving faxes, and preparing inactive files for storage.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of modern office principles and practices, with experience in computer software programs and customer service.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • High school degree or equivalent, with sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position.
