Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician III is responsible for performing a variety of skilled maintenance and repair work in one or more of the maintenance trades, including carpentry, plumbing, masonry, painting, welding, and electrical work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and repair work in county buildings and properties.
  • Supervise a work crew and coordinate work efforts with other employees and organizations.
  • Maintain related paperwork, such as work orders.
  • Purchase materials needed as necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of four (4) years progressively increasing experience in one or more maintenance trades.
  • Completion of safety training.
  • Possession of a valid North Carolina driver's license.

Physical Requirements:

The work is primarily very heavy work requiring exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 30 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Perform a variety of skilled maintenance and repair work.
  • Maintain related paperwork.
  • Purchase materials needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
