Job Summary

Skurnik Wines & Spirits is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Spirits professional to assist with the weekly performance of spirits retail shop tastings. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for craft spirits and excellent communication skills to effectively engage with customers and shop staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain in-depth product knowledge and enthusiasm for craft spirits, meeting the standards of the Skurnik Spirits team.
  • Retrieve samples and tasting materials from the Skurnik office as needed.
  • Prepare and serve cocktails that showcase products in an approachable and compelling format.
  • Educate shop staff on products and brands presented during tastings.
  • Conduct visual audits and record retail shelf inventory for poured and tasted items.
  • Complete detailed recap forms following each tasting.
Compensation and Benefits

The Spirits Retail Coordinator will receive a competitive compensation package, including:

  • $150 per tasting fee
  • $20 per diem for travel and other tasting materials
  • $40 per hour for required brand trainings (1-3 hours per training)

Additionally, the company will provide cost of samples and certain cocktailing materials/tools.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, the Spirits Retail Coordinator must have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong product knowledge and enthusiasm for craft spirits
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules, including Thursdays to Saturdays
