Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified individual for a faculty position in anatomic pathology and medical renal pathology. The successful candidate will be responsible for sign-out of medical kidney biopsies and general surgical pathology, as well as frozen section coverage. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to participate in resident and medical student teaching, and engage in scholarly activities and research.

Responsibilities

• Sign out medical kidney biopsies and general surgical pathology as per monthly faculty schedule
• Frozen section coverage as per monthly faculty schedule
• Co-scoping with resident and medical student during sign-out
• Perform/supervise and sign out adult autopsies on a rotation basis
• Evening, weekend, and holiday calls on a rotation basis
• Teach medical students/residents (didactic and unknown conference sessions)
• Provide renal pathology consultation and present renal pathology at conferences

Required Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent with AP/CP training and American Board of Pathology Board Certification or board eligible
• Subspecialty fellowship training and/or experience in medical renal pathology
• GA State Licensure required
• Credentialed to practice at Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center

Rank and Salary

The rank and salary for this position will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. The position is not considered to be on tenure track.
