Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Scientist specializing in Water Resources, Agricultural, or Nutrient Management. This role involves collaboration within a dedicated team to deliver technical expertise on ongoing projects and contribute to business growth in the Ecological and Biological Sciences sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic business initiatives and foster client relationships to expand a diverse range of scientific and engineering services globally in the agricultural and nutrient management fields.
  • Analyze and interpret water resource management and land-use practices, emphasizing agricultural and nutrient management, including compliance with government regulations, environmental assessments, and production methodologies.
  • Lead and support the execution of analytical studies, regulatory documentation, and expert evaluations.
  • Integrate technical data and employ innovative and analytical thinking to draft and review reports and technical presentations.
  • Enhance professional standing through contributions to peer-reviewed journals and active participation in technical conferences and professional organizations.
  • Collaborate effectively on projects with colleagues from the Ecological and Biological Sciences Practice and interdisciplinary teams from other areas of the organization as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Advanced degree in Water Resources, Agricultural Science, Ecology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) designation for those on the Senior Managing Engineer career path.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 4 years in consulting roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of land-use practices, agricultural science, soil management, water resource strategies, pest control, and nutrient management.
  • Familiarity with agricultural practices and a solid understanding of scientific sampling techniques and current issues related to terrestrial, wildlife, soil, and water quality.
  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis and statistical methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage tasks of moderate complexity and scope.
  • Capacity to work autonomously, prioritize multiple assignments with competing deadlines, and communicate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to personal growth and the development of team members.
  • Additional experience in understanding relevant laws and regulations related to agriculture and environmental sciences would be advantageous.
