Role Responsibilities
As a Senior Applied Scientist within the Devices & Services Security division, you will spearhead the creation of groundbreaking algorithms and modeling strategies aimed at pushing the boundaries of Generative AI systems. Your contributions will significantly influence our clientele through products and services that integrate advanced vision and language technologies. You will utilize Amazon's diverse data repositories and extensive computational resources to expedite the development of security solutions leveraging multimodal Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI).
Team Mission
The Devices and Services (D&S) Security team is committed to ensuring that Amazon's devices and services are crafted and executed to meet the highest standards necessary for maintaining and bolstering customer trust. The team is responsible for developing security technologies for various builder teams, conducting penetration testing, and managing incident responses to resolution. Additionally, the team defines and implements security and privacy requirements across the organization.

Qualifications
- PhD or Master's degree with 6+ years of applied research experience
- 3+ years of experience in developing machine learning models for business applications
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or similar
- Experience with neural deep learning techniques and machine learning methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale machine learning systems, including profiling, debugging, and understanding system performance and scalability
- Familiarity with managed ML/AI solutions
- Experience with LLMs and Gen AI in Computer Vision, covering both image and video domains

Our compensation reflects the labor costs across various US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $150,400/year in our lowest geographic market to $260,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is determined by several factors, including market location, and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon offers a comprehensive compensation package that may include equity, sign-on bonuses, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
