Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer to become a vital member of our skilled and diverse team.

This role will be based in a collaborative environment.

1st shift, 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off

Position is onsite, unable to accommodate a telecommute/hybrid schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and evaluate a variety of packaging solutions aimed at safeguarding, showcasing, and facilitating the handling of products.

Establish packaging criteria based on product characteristics, budget constraints, regulatory requirements, and necessary protection levels, taking into account external factors such as moisture, corrosive substances, temperature fluctuations, light exposure, rough handling, and tampering risks.

Craft package exteriors while considering elements such as product visibility, market appeal, aesthetic quality, printing, and production methodologies.

Responsibilities may also encompass documentation oversight and familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree with 3 years of relevant experience, Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience, an Associate's degree with 7 years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma/equivalent with 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

Proficient in CAD applications across various industries.

General understanding of aerospace packaging and logistics.

Familiarity with transportability concerning shipping fixtures.

While not mandatory to start, this position necessitates the capability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level clearance and a Program Special Access as determined by business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field.

Experience with CAD (CATIA/NX) in the aerospace or automotive sectors.

Experience with MasterCam in the aerospace domain.

Experience with tooling and die fabrication in the aerospace industry.

Familiarity with Military Packaging Standards within the aerospace sector.

49 CFR Certification.

Knowledge of cushioning principles related to transportability and safeguarding items during shipment.

Understanding of protective measures in container design.

Compensation Range:
$97,500 - $146,300


The aforementioned salary range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman evaluates various factors when determining base salary offers, including the role's scope and responsibilities, along with the candidate's experience, education, skills, and prevailing market conditions.

Employees may qualify for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are intended to recognize individual contributions and allow employees to participate in company success. Employees in Vice President or Director roles may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
