Role Purpose:
The Medical Records Assistant or an individual with equivalent clinical training will undertake various responsibilities within the office, ranging from patient intake to direct patient care. This role involves ensuring a smooth triage process and patient flow to healthcare providers. Under general supervision in an outpatient clinical environment, the assistant will provide exemplary customer service, conduct initial patient assessments, support direct patient care, and execute routine medical procedures as per established clinical protocols and provider instructions. We are open to training a motivated individual who aligns with our values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional customer service to enhance patient satisfaction and foster relationships.
- Stay informed about current policies and procedures.
- Gather patient histories and maintain accurate patient records.
- Communicate normal test results to patients.
- Ensure cleanliness in workspaces and patient examination areas.
- Perform routine medical procedures following established guidelines, including:
- EKGs
- Immunizations
- Ear lavage
- Sterile dressing changes
- Nebulizer treatments
- Suture removals
- Administer immunizations and therapeutic injections.
- Keep exam room supplies adequately stocked.
- Adhere to safety, environmental, and infection control protocols.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
- Strong customer service abilities.
- Understanding of company policies and healthcare regulations.
- Preferred: Medical Assistant certification or equivalent clinical training.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Knowledge of office procedures in a healthcare setting.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional demeanor when greeting patients and answering calls.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with providers, patients, and the public.
- Time management skills.
- Capability to identify, assess, and resolve issues independently.
- Maintain productivity and work autonomously.
Work Environment:
This role requires extended periods of sitting or standing.
