Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Media Services Technician to join our team at the University of Tampa. As a key member of our Information Technology and Security department, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electronic classrooms on campus, as well as training and supervising student Help Desk employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, repair, and oversee repairs of AV electronic classroom equipment.
  • Assist the Help Desk with classroom equipment calls and problems.
  • Record and stream university events as needed.
  • Contribute to video post-production, including editing and producing finished videos using Adobe Premiere Production Suite and Apple I-MAC computers.
  • Set up and operate Audio Visual equipment to implement educational programs, including seminars, special presentations, and programs in various college venues.
Requirements
  • AA or AS degree preferred with two (2) years' experience in classroom repairs, such as changing projector bulbs and diagnosing problems with the Extron control systems.
  • Experience with Extron control systems, with Extron Plus or Extron Pro certifications a plus but not required.
  • Experience training subordinates and peers.
  • Fundamental knowledge of audio and video signal routing, sound, and video display systems.
  • Knowledge of operation and maintenance of essential media equipment, including sound systems, microphones and mixing boards, LCD projectors, video recorders and players, cameras, laptop computers, Extron control equipment, etc.
  • Knowledge of computer skills, including PC/MAC platforms, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to edit and produce videos using Adobe Premiere Production suite.
  • Ability to create and maintain training material using PC or Mac-based word processing software.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekends and overtime.
