About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our professional Customer Service team in our Tampa location. As a Registered Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the accuracy of customer record information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Talk with customers by phone and receive orders for prescriptions or respond to customer questions and/or requests for information.
  • Answer telephone calls and direct them to pharmacists and/or other pharmacy personnel, or take necessary messages.
  • Provide product information, product literature, and customer ordering status to support field sales personnel.
  • Receive prescriptions from pharmacists for processing by entering them into the pharmacy computer system.
  • Prepare correct paperwork for pharmacy to fill medications.
  • Solicit sales of new or additional services by calling patients for their monthly refills.
  • Receive and process prescriptions via fax, mail, and online ordering systems.
  • Verify and/or update accuracy of patient information, such as address, allergies, etc.
  • Ensure security of Protected Health Information as per HIPAA requirements.
  • Enter new prescription orders into the computer system and process form of payment: check or credit card; when appropriate.
  • Communicate form of shipment of orders.
  • Adjust complaints concerning billing or service rendered, referring complaints of service failures to designated departments for investigation.
  • Follow reconciliation and reporting procedures for reporting to local, state, and federal governing authorities as required by law.
  • May serve as a role model for the purposes of training new personnel.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly work environment.
Requirements
  • Current Florida Pharmacy Technician License
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • At least one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong communication skills, be organized, and detail oriented
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Enthusiastic, professional, and self-directed interest
