Description:

OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE:


Under the supervision of the Group Home Manager, the Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Residential is responsible for providing assistance, skill enhancement, and related services to the residents of the group home.

The DSP-Residential executes Residential Treatment Plans, engages in daily activities with residents, and supports the overall functioning of the group home.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.0 DIRECT SERVICE
Engages in daily skill development with residents focusing on personal care, independent living, and community engagement. Ensures adherence to regulations, policies, and procedures while communicating in a respectful manner that promotes independence.

2.0 PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION AND DEVELOPMENT
Contributes as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Aids in the creation of treatment plans, attends staff meetings as directed by the supervisor, and provides case management as assigned. Acts as an advocate for the residents.

3.0 RECORDKEEPING
Maintains all necessary documentation as per policy and procedure. Submits records for payroll, client documentation, incident reports, and other daily tasks accurately and promptly. Keeps medical administration certification current and documents protocols in a timely manner.

4.0 HOUSEKEEPING
Performs assigned housekeeping and cleaning tasks. Reports any issues with the facility, furnishings, vehicles, or grounds to the supervisor without delay.

  • Additionally, carries out other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. A Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related human services field is preferred.

LICENSE REQUIRED:
Valid driver's license

COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED:
Proficient typing and navigation skills
