Job Title: Adjunct Instructor for Video Content Creation

SUNY Ulster is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Adjunct Instructor for Video Content Creation to join our Media & Performing Arts Department. As an Adjunct Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching a course in video production and content creation, developing and delivering engaging course material, and mentoring students through their creative projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver engaging course material, including lectures, assignments, and hands-on instruction with industry-standard equipment and software.
  • Mentor students through their creative projects, providing guidance and feedback to help them achieve their goals.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and foster an innovative learning environment that prepares students for careers in digital media.
  • Provide instruction, lectures, and assignments relating to video content creation in accordance with course descriptions, outlines, class schedules, and the Governing Board policy.
  • Evaluate progress of students concerning educational matters and perform other instructional-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in content creation, digital storytelling, and multimedia production.
  • Bachelor's degree in Film, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Strong interest in teaching, mentoring, and working with community college students.
  • Proficiency with camera equipment and editing software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, etc.), Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.
  • Strong creative vision and ability to translate ideas into engaging digital content for the classroom.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a keen eye for quality and accuracy in all aspects of content production.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Updated on the latest trends in digital media, storytelling techniques, and emerging technologies.
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, gender, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Actively working in a desired field of study.
  • Evidence of successful teaching at the college or university level.
  • Familiarity with the BrightSpace Learning Management System.
