THE OPPORTUNITY:

HUB's Customer Service specialists play a vital role in supporting our clients through effective account management, claims oversight, daily client interactions, and underwriting services, establishing us as a premier sales and service organization in the insurance field. The Benefits Analyst II is tasked with assisting Account Executives and Advisors in quoting, reporting, and various strategic analytical processes. This role is essential within the Sales and Account Executive Teams, responsible for fostering strong relationships both internally and externally with HUB clients and vendors. The Benefits Analyst II contributes significantly to enhancing the profitability of existing product lines through the proposal process.
  • Formulates and communicates strategies for RFPs, results, and reports to carrier partners/vendors. Manages new and renewal submissions and implementations related to the quoting process, ensuring timely renewals with a focus on quality, deadlines, workflow, communication, and carrier coordination.
  • Analyzes client needs and provides recommendations on RFP direction and contribution analysis.
  • Handles quoting for new and renewal groups.
  • Evaluates and understands respective markets and products to identify optimal solutions for client needs.
  • Reviews benefits and claims data for RFP inclusion, organizes carrier and vendor bids, and follows up on non-responses and late submissions.
  • Negotiates with carriers throughout the RFP process.
  • Addresses carrier inquiries during the RFP process and advises on client benefit strategies.
  • Assists Account Executives with data collection for benchmarking, strategic planning, and reporting duties.
  • Conducts claims analysis and contribution modeling.
  • Interprets and verifies census data for accuracy.
  • Communicates with Account Executives and Producers regarding the status of marketing activities.
  • Reviews insurance bids for compliance with specifications, identifies key differences, and maintains client databases within internal systems.
  • Creates and updates templates used during the strategy and marketing processes.
  • Maintains client access to external online portals.
  • Provides training as a subject-matter expert to other Client Services team members on various topics.
  • Manages and assists with client-related service issues.
  • Participates in carrier sales meetings, training sessions, and webinars.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of new and existing products, facilitating communication between carriers, Account Executives, and Producers.
  • Coordinates communication with carriers and the internal HUB Team.
  • Demonstrates expertise in BenAdmin, workflow, carrier, and proposal systems.
  • Conducts research and resolves data issues using multiple systems, tools, and resources.
  • Fosters positive relationships both internally and externally.
  • Adheres to HUB Values, including HIPAA and ACA Compliance.
  • Ensures compliance with HUB turnaround times as outlined in KPIs.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of new processes and procedures.
  • Acts as the analytical subject matter expert in strategy meetings with Account Executives and Producers.
  • Mentors junior Benefits Analysts.
  • Utilizes project management tools such as SmartSheet.
  • Updates client information within Benefit Point.
SALARY: The anticipated salary range for this position is $80,000.00 to $85,000.00, influenced by factors such as the candidate's skills, experience, education, licensing certifications, geographic location, approved salary budget, and the specific position's complexity and scope. HUB International offers a comprehensive benefits and total compensation package, including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, FSA, HSA, and 401(k) accounts, paid time off, and eligible bonuses and commissions for full-time positions.

  • College Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in a carrier or brokerage firm.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - intermediate to expert user level preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure with attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented self-starter with the ability to prioritize, monitor, and manage workflow deadlines flexibly.
  • Detail-oriented with a sense of urgency.
  • Understanding of benefits and benefit terminology.
  • Proficient typing skills.
  • High degree of independence and problem-solving abilities.
  • Accurate completion of enrollment/changes, including follow-up with carriers and team.
