Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Stationary Engineer to join our team at Boys Town. As a Stationary Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the efficient operation of our power plant and ensuring the safety of our employees and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain stationary and mechanical engines, including centrifugal chillers.
  • Perform preventative maintenance duties for power plant systems and repair, remove, and install plumbing fittings and pipes.
  • Respond to service orders, determine appropriate repairs, and complete maintenance reports.
  • Maintain effective and efficient operation of the boilers for organizational heating operations and prepare boiler for annual state inspection.
  • Maintain charts and daily logs of operations and prepare reports regarding fuel and water usage.
  • Assist in completing administrative duties and ensure accuracy of master on-call list.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience, including 1 year of actual operating experience, required.
  • On-call (continuously or rotationally) to provide support and may work evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record and pass an annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check required.
  • City of Omaha Third Grade Stationary Engineer License required at time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vocational training preferred.
