Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Stationary Engineer to join our team at Boys Town. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining the efficient operation of our power plant systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Maintain Power Plant Systems: Ensure the safe and efficient operation of stationary and mechanical engines, including centrifugal chillers.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance duties to prevent equipment failures and ensure optimal performance.
  • Respond to Service Orders: Determine the necessary repairs and complete maintenance reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintain Boiler Operations: Ensure the proper fuel levels for boiler operation and prepare the boiler for annual state inspections.
  • Monitor Operations and Prepare Reports: Maintain charts and daily logs of operations and prepare reports on fuel and water usage.
  • Assist with Administrative Duties: Ensure accuracy of master on-call lists and recommend improvements to production methods and working conditions.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required.
  • Minimum of 2 Years of Experience: Including 1 year of actual operating experience required.
  • On-Call Availability: Must be available to provide support and may work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid Driver's License: With a good driving record and pass an annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check required.
  • City of Omaha Third Grade Stationary Engineer License: Required at time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vocational Training: Preferred.
