We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stationary Engineer to join our team at Boys Town. As a key member of our Power Plant operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our power plant systems.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and Maintain Power Plant Systems: You will be responsible for operating and maintaining stationary and mechanical engines, including centrifugal chillers, to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Perform Preventative Maintenance: You will perform regular preventative maintenance duties to ensure the smooth operation of power plant systems, including repairs, removals, and installations of plumbing fittings and pipes.
- Respond to Service Orders: You will respond to service orders, determine the necessary repairs, and complete maintenance reports to ensure that all issues are addressed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain Boiler Operations: You will maintain the effective and efficient operation of the boilers for organizational heating operations, ensure proper fuel levels for boiler operation, and prepare the boiler for annual state inspection.
- Record Keeping: You will maintain accurate charts and daily logs of operations and prepare reports regarding fuel and water usage.
- Administrative Support: You will assist in completing administrative duties, ensure the accuracy of the master on-call list, and recommend improvements to production methods, working conditions, and equipment use.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience, including 1 year of actual operating experience, required.
- On-Call Requirements: On-call (continuously or rotationally) to provide support and may work evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
- Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record and pass an annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check required.
- Licensing: City of Omaha Third Grade Stationary Engineer License required at time of hire.
- Vocational Training: Vocational training preferred.
