Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Stationary Engineer to join our team at Boys Town. As a key member of our Power Plant operations, you will be responsible for maintaining the efficient and safe operation of our power plant systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain stationary and mechanical engines, including centrifugal chillers.
  • Perform preventative maintenance duties for power plant systems, and repair, remove, and install plumbing fittings and pipes.
  • Respond to service orders, determine appropriate repairs, and complete maintenance reports; review and update maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain effective and efficient operation of the boilers for organizational heating operations, maintain proper fuel levels for the boiler operation, and prepare boiler for annual state inspection.
  • Maintain charts and daily logs of operations; prepare reports regarding fuel and water usage.
  • Assist in completing administrative duties, ensure accuracy of master on-call list, and recommend improvements to production methods, working conditions, and use of equipment.
  • Utilize Boys Town vehicle or own vehicle to complete work duties.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience including 1-year actual operating experience required.
  • On-call (continuously or rotationally) to provide support and may work evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record and pass an annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check required.
  • City of Omaha Third Grade Stationary Engineer License required at time of hire.
