Job Title: Executive Director, Research and Relationship Management

George Washington University is seeking an Executive Director, Research and Relationship Management to join its Development and Alumni Relations team. This is a critical role that will lead the university's research and relationship management efforts, driving strategic partnerships and fostering a culture of philanthropy throughout the university community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive research and relationship management strategy to support the university's fundraising goals.
  • Lead a team of research and relationship management professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Collaborate with university leadership and development staff to identify and pursue strategic partnerships and funding opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including alumni, donors, and corporate partners.
  • Manage budgets and resources to ensure effective use of research and relationship management tools and technologies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, plus 10 years of experience in research and relationship management, or a Master's degree in a relevant field, plus 8 years of experience.
  • Proven track record of success in research and relationship management, with a strong understanding of the development cycle and the role of prospect development within it.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience with relational databases and data analysis tools, with a strong understanding of data-driven decision-making.
