Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aviation Career Development Manager to join our team at StandardAero. As a key member of our maintenance operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality and safety in our aircraft maintenance services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign and supervise Quality Inspectors/Technicians to perform tasks required by work scope and monitor performance to plan.
  • Supervise daily activities of assigned inspectors, taking necessary action to ensure all work is completed within schedule and estimated costs.
  • Direct team for maximum efficiency and effective use of available resources, including assignment of overtime as required and authorized, and accurately charging labor hours.
  • Ensure use of applicable technical data, including methods, techniques, and practices prescribed in current manufacturers' maintenance manuals.
  • Ensure inspection personnel assigned to perform inspection tasks are qualified to perform the task and identify training requirements.
  • Monitor all work performed by the crew to ensure all work accomplished meets quality standards and is airworthy.
  • Ensure required aircraft maintenance documents and forms are complete and accurate in accordance with methods of execution outlined in the Repair Station Quality Control Manual (RSQCM) and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARS).
  • Provide for shift turnover requirements as outlined in the RSQCM.
  • Collaborate and cooperate with assigned maintenance manager and maintenance crew chiefs to achieve on-time delivery and on-budget objectives of the work scope.
  • Help management ensure action is taken to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Ensure assigned crews follow adequate safety precautions and procedures, inspect equipment to ensure it meets company safety and OSHA standards.
  • Supervise a continuous safety program in their area of responsibility, including operation of support equipment, aircraft systems, housekeeping, and hazardous materials.
  • Maintain a focus on Human Factors in the workplace and drive to zero defects in workmanship and safety.
  • Supervise a crew of employees and be responsible for employee development, performance management, and discipline.
Requirements
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of Corporate related aircraft Initial Maintenance School/verifiable experience.
  • Must possess an FAA Mechanic Airframe & Powerplant Certificate and meet the requirements of that certificate as described in FAR part 65; subpart D.
  • Three (3) plus years leadership experience in an aviation maintenance environment.
Eligibility
  • Ability to lead and motivate subordinates.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with QC systems.
  • Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, CFR parts 21, 25, 39, 43, 91, 119, 121, 135, and 145 as required.
  • A working knowledge of: Aircraft factory modifications, service bulletins, vendor information, and inspection program requirements.
  • NDT, First Article inspections, drawings or blueprints, etc.
  • Strong computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and project management applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) is a plus.
  • Associates Degree in an aviation field, or aircraft maintenance related experience equivalency is a plus.
