Job Summary

The HR Manager plays a pivotal role in aligning human resource programs with the organization's long-term strategic goals. This position involves overseeing a comprehensive array of administrative functions related to human resource management, employee development, and customer service. A key responsibility of the HR Manager is to spearhead regular HR training sessions for employees and supervisors, focusing on enhancing skills, fostering professional growth, and ensuring that all team members are well-versed in best practices and organizational policies. By prioritizing training and development, the HR Manager supports a culture of continuous improvement and helps drive the overall success of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Training and Development
    • Makes recommendations to management to address training and development needs of individuals. Ensures that management is appropriately trained to comply with state, local, and federal guidelines. Works with Director to create, deliver, and increase effectiveness of Sakata training programs.
  • General HR
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources.
    • Provides coaching and mentoring and support to colleagues and internal HR team members.
    • Advises management and provides recommendations on personnel and problem issues (that require escalation).
    • Builds strong relationships with peers and Senior Managers to best meet company goals and objectives and strategic planning.
    • Manages and leverages relationships with vendors for a specific product/service (best price, best product, etc.).
    • Maintains professional relationships with peers in other corporations and outside organizations.
    • Cross-trains to provide back-up in various HR functional areas, as needed.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments while meeting company and department objectives.
  • Client-focused, business-partnering, and influencing skills.
  • The ability to work both strategically and operationally.
  • Verbal and written communications skills that effectively relate to all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish, preferred.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least two years of training experience required.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP certification preferred.

Experience and Background

  • Minimum 8 years HR or related experience required.
  • VISIO experience a plus.
  • Strong administrative background and experience. Working knowledge of Human Resource practices and principles a plus. Knowledge of Benefits Administration and/or payroll preferred.
  • Ability to handle stress especially when encountering necessary projects, deadlines, and/or high workload.
  • Strong character traits required including emotional stability, adaptability, ability to handle stress, cultural and gender sensitivity, and honesty.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work at a computer terminal and on a computer keyboard for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work extended hours if necessary.
  • Must be able to travel to different locations from time to time.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 per year.
