Clinical Pharmacotherapy Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacotherapy Specialist to join our team at NYU Langone Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-level clinical pharmacotherapy programs, working under minimal supervision to troubleshoot challenges related to patient care, clinical program management, and staff supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain professional competency and certification
- Identify and provide expertise for Medication Use Evaluations
- Responsible for Pharmacy Resident precepting; Pharmacy student mentoring; and Scholarly activity
- Hospital committee involvement, as identified and assigned by the Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services
- Clinical intervention, adverse drug reaction, and medication error documentation and reporting
- Develops and implements clinical practice guidelines that will enhance pharmaceutical care and medication safety
- Evaluates and reports measures of patient encounter productivity and identifies methods to enhance efficiency of such encounters
- Identifies and develops policies and procedures that optimize the pharmacy operations while meeting accreditation standards and applicable regulations
- Contribute to professional development of staff, including Pharmacists and Clinical Pharmacists
- Provides oversight for quality assurance of clinical pharmacy programs to improve quality of care
- Develop and maintain a high-level clinical pharmacy practice
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy
- New York State Pharmacist Licensure
- PGYI pharmacy residency training
- PGY2 pharmacy residency training or equivalent salaried professorship at a school of pharmacy
- Board certification in Pharmacotherapy or other specialty is required within 18 months of hire
