We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic After School Group Leader to join our team at Commonpoint Queens. As a Group Leader, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for our program participants, aged Kindergarten to 8th grade.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and engage children in activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Complete and monitor daily attendance sheets, maintaining accurate records.
  • Plan and implement daily activities, promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Model effective guidance and classroom management techniques, maintaining a safe and respectful environment.
  • Lead children between activities, ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Collaborate with peer staff, sharing ideas and best practices.
  • Document and report any incidents or injuries that occur during the program.
  • Participate in professional development sessions and staff meetings, staying up-to-date on best practices.
Qualifications
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with a friendly and engaging approach.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills, ensuring a safe and efficient environment.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills, meeting daily workload demands.
  • Cultural competency, with experience working with diverse backgrounds and communities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with college credits preferred.
