Job Title: Intervention and Outreach Liaison

Champlain Housing Trust is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Intervention and Outreach Liaison to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a critical role in supporting unhoused individuals and connecting them to essential resources and services.

Job Summary:

The Intervention and Outreach Liaison will provide proactive support to individuals in need, building strong relationships with community service agencies and CHT staff. This role requires a strong understanding of social programs, particularly those related to unhoused populations and housing programs. Key Responsibilities:
  • Build strong relationships with community service agencies and CHT staff
  • Perform direct outreach to the unhoused population
  • Use active listening, compassion, and verbal de-escalation skills to diffuse conflict
  • Act as a resource for staff, providing insight and mentorship as applicable
  • Provide backup and support at hotel and/or shelter locations as needed
  • Perform special projects as assigned
Requirements:
  • BA in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field, or at least 7 years of experience working with the unhoused or other high-risk populations
  • Familiarity with housing programs, social service programs, and confidentiality rules and regulations
  • Basic computer and technology proficiencies
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, empathy, confidentiality, conflict resolution, and relational skills
Work Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced and requires significant self-motivation. Occasional travel to meetings and seminars may be required. Champlain Housing Trust is an at-will employer and is committed to a diverse workplace.
