Principal Consultant, Environmental Health and Safety

ERM is seeking a seasoned Principal Consultant, Environmental Health and Safety to join our Safety Services team and contribute to a wide range of projects across various industries.

As a leader in the field of environmental health and safety, ERM is committed to helping organizations deliver sustainable, safe, and compliant performance. Our team of experts provides innovative services across the full spectrum of EHS, including sustainability auditing, information solutions, health and safety programs, compliance and management systems, training, and corporate reporting.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional who can develop and implement strategic business plans, lead large projects, and drive innovation within the business. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, excellent consulting and business development skills, and a proven track record of success in the EHS industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic business plans to expand ERM's services and client base.
  • Identify and develop new opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals, and lead business development efforts.
  • Design and direct large projects and multi-person project teams to achieve client expectations.
  • Focus on development and delivery of EHS consulting services, including EHS compliance and social auditing, health and safety leadership training, and more.
  • Drive innovation within the business to stay ahead of client needs and differentiate ERM in the market.
  • Lead, manage performance, retain, inspire, and mentor personnel for sustainable success of ERM technical teams.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in engineering, science, safety, industrial hygiene, or related discipline.
  • 6+ years of applicable, progressive EHS experience working at or with clients, preferably in the Technology, BioPharma, Power, Media, and/or Telecommunications industries.
  • Effective team leader with experience managing and mentoring technical staff.
  • Business acumen to understand business risk and challenges and recognize corporate opportunities.
  • Well-developed analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Professional certifications: CSP, CIH, CHMM, and/or similar registration highly desirable.

For this role, we anticipate an annual base pay of $125,000 – $148,800 USD, plus an annual discretionary performance bonus.
