Principal Consultant, Environmental Health and Safety

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) is seeking a seasoned Principal Consultant, Environmental Health and Safety to join our Safety Services team. This role will involve contributing to a diverse range of projects across ERM's services, focusing on Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) consulting.

As a leading provider of EHS, risk, and social consulting services, ERM helps organizations deliver sustainable, safe, and compliant performance. Our Health & Safety Services team offers innovative solutions across sustainability auditing, information management, health and safety programs, compliance, and management systems.

We are looking for an industry expert with strong consulting and business development skills to foster and expand a network of excellent client relationships in Technology, BioPharma, Power, Media, and Telecommunications industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic business plans to expand ERM's services and client base, with a focus on EHS services.
  • Identify and develop new opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals, and lead business development efforts with new and existing clients.
  • Design and direct large programs/projects and multi-person project teams to achieve client expectations for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Focus on delivering the full spectrum of ERM's safety consulting services, including EHS compliance and social auditing, health and safety leadership training, and more.
  • Drive innovation within the business to stay ahead of client needs and differentiate ERM in the market.
  • Lead, manage performance, retain, inspire, and mentor personnel for sustainable success of ERM technical teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build ERM's global Safety Services business.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in engineering, science, safety, industrial hygiene, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of progressive EHS experience working at or with clients, preferably in Technology, BioPharma, Power, Media, and Telecommunications industries.
  • Effective team leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Business acumen to understand business risk and challenges and recognize corporate opportunities.
  • Well-developed analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Professional certifications: CSP, CIH, CHMM, and/or similar registration highly desirable.

For this role, we offer a competitive annual base salary of $125,000 – $148,800 USD, plus an annual discretionary performance bonus. Our comprehensive benefits package includes paid time off, paid parental leave, medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and AD&D insurance, 401(k) or RRSP/DPSP, and other benefits as applicable.
