Position Responsibilities

The Media Operations Coordinator plays a pivotal role in managing media logistics for all U.S. Soccer events, including matches involving the Senior Men's and Women's National Teams. This position requires collaboration with various venues, media representatives, and FIFA Member Associations to ensure seamless media operations.

  • Oversee and implement media logistics for U.S. Soccer events, including but not limited to National Team matches, Annual General Meetings, and the National Soccer Hall of Fame.
  • Assist in managing the event accreditation system, which involves processing attendee registrations, photo submissions, and distributing event credentials.
  • Ensure the quality and availability of media operation supplies and equipment for events.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors to align with departmental budgets and manage event-related invoices.
  • Build and maintain a network of volunteers and oversee event day staff.
  • Update and manage media lists in preparation for events.
  • Familiarize with U.S. Soccer Media Guidelines to maintain a professional environment for journalists while safeguarding the rights of media partners.
  • Compile and present media coverage reports post-events.
  • Support the promotion of local media coverage and disseminate media information prior to events.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including Event Operations, Broadcast Operations, Corporate Partnerships, and Ticketing, to ensure successful event execution.
  • Perform additional departmental duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of professional and international soccer; experience in soccer events is advantageous.
  • Background in media, sports, or entertainment is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to produce high-quality work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience working with public figures, athletes, and executives in a professional setting.
  • Proficient in technology applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.); familiarity with accreditation software is a plus.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, including reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Bachelor's degree is required.
