Job Overview

The Senior Accounting Specialist plays a pivotal role in delivering crucial financial insights to the accounting management team. This position involves thorough research and analysis of accounts, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering collaboration within the accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of General Ledger Entries: Execute journal entries with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accurate maintenance of records and files, while assisting in the monthly and year-end closing processes.
  • Support Monthly Closing Procedures: Contribute to the monthly closing cycle with a focus on continuous improvement, conducting research and documentation of accounting practices.
  • Account Reconciliation: Conduct thorough reconciliations, performing necessary analytics during month-end and annual accounting closures.
  • EDI Systems Management: Maintain and balance EDI systems by accurately inputting and verifying data.
  • Error Resolution: Review, investigate, and rectify discrepancies in transactional entries, as well as analyze monthly financial reports for assigned cost centers.
  • Audit Assistance: Aid in the preparation of internal and external audit schedules, while performing additional tasks as required.
Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in accounting, along with a minimum of one year of relevant experience.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects effectively and meet deadlines. CPA candidacy is advantageous.
Language Proficiency

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to read, analyze, and interpret various business documents, including periodicals, professional journals, and governmental regulations. Strong writing skills for reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals are essential, as well as the capability to present information clearly to diverse audiences.

Mathematical Skills

Proficiency in calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and commissions is required. Candidates should be adept at applying mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to real-world scenarios, as well as developing and interpreting business graphs.

Travel Requirements

Some travel may be necessary for this position.
