Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team in Temple, Texas.
Job SummaryThe Radiologic Technologist will perform diagnostic and/or fluoroscopic imaging procedures on ambulatory patients in a physician office or clinic setting. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively explain the procedure to patients, ensure they are relaxed and at ease during the exam, and provide care to patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist.
Key Responsibilities- Identify patient service requirements by utilizing AIDET when communicating with patients to ensure they perform the correct exam on the correct patient.
- Prepare patients for radiological procedures by positioning patients, adjusting immobilization devices, and moving equipment into specified positions.
- Minimize radiation to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
- Document pregnancy status of female patients of youth-bearing age and the shielding precautions taken in the performance of the imaging study.
- Ensure operation of Radiology equipment by performing quality checks following manufacturer's recommendations and trouble-shooting equipment as required.
- Grad of an Accredited Program in Radiologic Technology.
- ARRT-R Radiography certification.
- Less than 1 year of experience in Radiologic Technology.
