Radiology Technologist

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in Temple, Texas.
Job SummaryThe Radiology Technologist will perform diagnostic and/or fluoroscopic imaging procedures on ambulatory patients in a physician office or clinic setting, under the general supervision of a radiologist. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively explain the procedure to patients, ensure they are relaxed and at ease during the exam, and provide care to patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a radiologist.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for radiological procedures by positioning them, adjusting immobilization devices, and moving equipment into specified positions.
- Minimize radiation to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
- Document pregnancy status of female patients of youth-bearing age and the shielding precautions taken in the performance of the imaging study.
- Ensure operation of radiology equipment by performing quality checks following manufacturer's recommendations and trouble-shooting equipment as required.
- Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to establish inventory levels, anticipating needed supplies, and placing and expediting orders for supplies.
- Graduate of an accredited program in radiologic technology.
- Less than 1 year of experience in radiologic technology.
- ARRT-R Radiography certification.
