Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RF communications modeling and simulation expert to join our team at Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA). As a Principal Scientist, you will play a crucial role in executing and developing research programs in RF communications modeling and simulation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute current research and develop new research programs and capabilities in RF communications modeling and simulation.
  • Provide high-level leadership and strategic planning for research initiatives.
  • Manage proposals and technical execution, oversight, and leadership on projects.
  • Develop and implement business management and organizational skills to drive research initiatives forward.
Requirements
  • Eligibility to apply for and hold a US security clearance.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related technical field with 12-15 years of work experience, or MS with 10-13 years of work experience.
  • Experience going from problem statement to prototype to production-ready algorithms.
  • Experience with RF communications modeling and simulation in general.
  • Excellent presentation and written/oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous technical leadership experience (project and/or management experience).
  • Experience writing white papers and responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Ability and desire to expand RF modeling and simulation knowledge.
  • Ability and desire to mentor junior modeling and simulation engineers.
  • Prior experience maturing R&D efforts into successful programs.
  • Existing DoD security clearance.
