Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join our team at North Carolina State University. The successful candidate will work directly with the Principal Investigator to acquire and analyze data for manuscripts and grant preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform experiments and help run the day-to-day operations of the lab.
- Order supplies and reagents, maintain records, and help train new personnel on frequently used techniques.
- Support graduate student or postdoc projects as needed.
Research Focus
The Fletcher laboratory studies how bacterial pathogens interact with their hosts and the host's indigenous microbiota, with a focus on metabolite exchange and the nutritional milieu of the inflamed environment.
Qualifications
- Relevant post-baccalaureate degree or Bachelor's degree in microbiology or related field with 3 or more years of independent research experience.
- Prior independent research experience, strong verbal and written communication skills, and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with computer literacy and computational skills.
