- Manages all processes related to the procurement of goods, starting from the purchase intent to the final delivery.
- Evaluates the needs for the goods, including initial specifications, preferred vendors, and delivery timelines.
- Requests and assesses bids for the required goods, including the identification of new suppliers.
- Researches and interviews potential vendors to ensure they meet the established criteria.
- Provides recommendations to team members or management regarding the selection of suppliers.
- Negotiates to achieve the best possible pricing for the goods while ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Implements purchasing agreements that adhere to both company policies and regulatory standards.
- Maintains effective communication with supervisors, requisitioning personnel, vendors, and other relevant departments.
- Ensures that goods are delivered punctually, at the agreed price, and meet the company's quality expectations.
- Keeps timely records of orders, modifications, shipping notifications, and other documentation to ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Develops efficient methods for distributing goods in a cost-effective manner.
- Oversees staff, organizes workflow, and addresses issues in the absence of the Purchasing Manager.
Language Proficiency: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to compose reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Analytical Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Ability to address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in BPCS Inventory software, order processing systems, and MS Office applications.
Certifications: APICS, C.P.M., CPSM, or equivalent certification preferred but not mandatory.
Additional Qualifications: Occasional travel may be required to meet with vendors, attend trade shows, or visit other company locations.
